Robin Jones, Director – First-Year Seminar & Instructional Support
Robin Jones has been a faculty member in the Department of Speech Pathology and Audiology at WVU since 1975. Robin also worked as the coordinator of the WVU Hearing Center until 1999. In 1999, she became the Resident Faculty Leader for Arnold Hall and Apartments. Robin has worked as the Associate Dean of Students for Residential Education and is currently the Director of First-Year Seminar & Instructional Support. In this position, she works with First-Year Seminars across campus, as well as an extended team of professionals to better serve first-year students.
Rhonda Black Meadows, Program Coordinator
Rhonda Black Meadows is the Program Coordinator for First-Year Seminar & Instructional Support. She received her BS from West Virginia University in 1999 in Psychology and her MA in Educational Leadership in 2006. From 1993-2010, she worked with the Residence Hall system to coordinate various programs and support for first-year students. Currently, she coordinates WVUe 191 and works closely with other First-Year Seminars across campus.
Keisha Kibler, Lecturer
Keisha Hopkins Kibler has been a lecturer at WVU for the past five years. In 2003 she graduated from WVU with her BA in English and her MA in Secondary Education. As a full time teacher in Preston County, she has earned her National Board Certification. Recently, Keisha was named a 21st Century Model Classroom Teacher for the state of WV. As a lecturer for WVU, she works for the First-Year Seminar and Instructional Support department to plan and create classes that support first-year students. She also teaches pre-service English teachers for the department of Curriculum and Instruction.
Sonia Hamidi, Graduate Assistant
Sonia Hamidi is a Graduate Assistant for First-Year Seminar and Instructional Support. She received her Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology and Audiology from West Virginia University in May 2011. Sonia is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Audiology and anticipates to graduate May 2015.
Sarah Swoger, Graduate Assistant
Sarah Swoger is a Graduate Assistant for Arnold Hall. She received her Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology and Audiology from West Virginia University in May 2011. Sarah is currently pursuing her Masters Degree in Speech Pathology and anticipates to graduate May 2013.
Arlie Chipps, Student Worker
Arlie Chipps is a student worker for First-Year Seminar & Instructional Support. He serves as the first-line for visitors and callers. He is currently pursing a BA in Art Design and will graduate May 2012.
Rogelio Andrada
Rogelio Andrada II earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry and a Masters degree in Forest Resources Management from the University of the Philippines Los Baños. He is currently finishing his Doctorate in Forest Resources Science majoring in Recreation, Parks and Tourism Resources and anticipates to graduate August 2012.
Lindsay Augustine
Lindsay Augustine received her Bachelor of Arts in History from West Virginia University in August 2011. Lindsay is currently pursuing her Masters Degree in Secondary Education with a Social Studies emphasis.
Meagan Brunson
Meagan Brunson earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Appalachian State University and her Master of Arts degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Richmont Graduate University. Prior to attending WVU, Meagan practiced mental health counseling in North Carolina. Currently, Meagan is pursuing her PhD in Counseling Psychology.
Zola Donovan
Zola Donovan received her Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Middlebury College. Zola is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Mathematics here at WVU with hopes of continuing her studies at the doctoral level.
Andres Garcia-Penagos
Andrés García-Penagos graduated as a psychologist from the National University of Colombia, at Bogotá. After practicing for a few years as a school psychologist, he came to WVU to obtain his Master of Science degree in Psychology. Currently, Andrés is pursuing his PhD degree in Education. His intellectual interests range from the philosophy of science, psychology, and education, to experimental psychology and evidence-based psychological and educational interventions.
Amy Hunter
Amy Hunter is a native of Philadelphia and has lived in the Morgantown area for the last 10 years. Amy completed her BA at WVU, and is currently pursuing her MPH in Epidemiology and Biostatistics.
Albina Khabibulina
Albina Khabibulina received her Master of Arts in TESOL from West Virginia University in May 2010. She is currently working on her Master of Arts in Secondary Education and anticipates to graduate May 2012. Upon completion of her current degree, Albina wishes to pursue her Doctorate of Education.
Reuben Mabishi
Reuben Mabishi obtained his degree in Biochemistry from the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences in May 2010. He is currently pursuing his Masters degree in Accounting and plans to pursue a PhD degree in Finance come Fall 2012. If he is not buried deep in a copy of Superfreakonomics, he is very busy accomplishing great things. Interrupt him anytime. He’s always happy to take time off his schedule to help you. Your greatest accomplishments should never be spoken of in the past tense. There’s always plenty to look forward to.
Katelyn Schaefer
Kate Schaefer received her BA in International Cultural Studies from Waynesburg University in 2009. She is currently pursuing her Masters degree in Secondary Education with certification in Spanish and Social Studies and anticipates graduating in May 2013.
Steven Silber
Steven is pursuing his Master of Science in Mathematics and entering his 6th year at West Virginia University. He is from Newark, Delaware. When he first came to WVU in 2006, he wanted to study forensic chemistry. Forensics sounded like a lot of fun, and he had enjoyed chemistry back in high school. Half-way through his third semester, he realized it was not the chemistry that excited him; instead, it was the mathematics involved! From there, he went on to complete his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics at WVU, and I decided to continue toward a Masters degree.
